Warning: if you’re not involved in comedy or struggle with sensitivities, please be advised past this point. People in comedy have a unique relationship with offence and appropriateness. They are often anarchic and badly behaved; problematic comedians will be included. There will inevitably be jokes with swearing, sex, politics, alcoholism, illegal substances, questionable points of view and religion. I can only apologise and swear I’ll never *ucking do it again.
Comedy
For the great who want to be greater.
For the slightly famous and fading and terrified.
For stand-ups who know they should be working on something… but what?
For the comics storming clubs night after night while watching newer comics leap pass them.
For the stagnated, the stuck, the defensive or jaded and tired of getting the same results.
If this is you?
Welcome.
Public Speaking
A good speaker knows how to hold an audience’s attention. A great speaker knows they are not just talking and that is why they can captivate any audience.
Live speaking is the one thing AI cannot do because live speaking it is about risk not perfection. It is one human versus a crowd, outnumbered. It is a spectacle.
Great speaking is an act, and a great act takes smoke and mirrors, misdirection and self-awareness. In other words, it takes stagecraft.
